Northern Africa – Egypt, Cairo, Clowning and Alexandria

The population of Egypt is approximately 82,999,393 (82 million). The population of Cairo is 8 million. I remember being quite shocked flying in and somewhat daunted as it was very foreign. When I got my first glimpse of the pyramids from the sky I was blown away by how huge they are and so different from the architecture of Cairo. It showed me how different the civilisations are. Interestingly, I didn’t feel unsafe in Cairo, I was helped by a Bedouin man, he bought me a tea and took me to the pyramids. When I rode on a camel around them I felt the only person on earth. It was a unique and intimate experience. A true wonder of my world and a mystery beyond human ingenuity.
